Microphone Permissions

If your browser is blocking microphone access, you’ll see "Microphone access is blocked" on the Ready, set, record screen and the Start Recording button will be disabled.

Chrome

  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Set Microphone to Allow.
  3. Refresh the page.

Safari

  1. Go to Safari > Settings for This Website.
  2. Set Microphone to Allow.
  3. Refresh the page.

Still not working?

  1. Close other apps using your microphone (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.).
  2. Restart your browser — not just the tab.
  3. Check system settings. On Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone — confirm your browser is listed and enabled.

If recording still won’t start, email hello@nessoapp.com with your browser name and version.

Nesso works on Chrome and Safari. For the best experience — especially for telehealth sessions — we recommend Chrome.
